48th Indian Biophysical Society Meeting

March 13th–15th, 2026, at the NEHU Main Campus in Shillong

President's Message

The Indian Biophysical Society(IBS) is dedicated to promoting the field of biophysics, which blends biology and physics to study biological systems at the molecular and cellular levels. IBS aims to foster scientific collaboration and communication among researchers in biophysics and related disciplines via organizing annual meetings in different parts of India to share knowledge, discuss research findings, and serves as a platform of young and experienced researchers to exchange ideas. It also promotes local chapters to enhance cohesivity among region specific community. IBS serves as a connect with the international societies such as the Asian Biophysical Society (ABS) and International Union of Pure and applied Biophysics (IUPAB). I invite scientists to engage with our dynamic community, share your insights, and contribute to the collective advancement of biophysics.

Our society (IBS) represents a vibrant community of scientists, researchers, educators, and students active in the area of biophysics in India. We biophysicists strive to advance the understanding of biological phenomena through the principles and methods of physical sciences. IBS organizes an annual meeting of biophysicists, usually in the month of March, at different places in India. It also represents the biophysics community at different international fora. Our goal is to foster discussions and collaborations, and to provide opportunities, especially to the younger members, in connecting with the biophysics community worldwide. Whether you are a seasoned scientist or a budding researcher, we invite you to explore the opportunities IBS and its annual meetings have to offer. Engage with our dynamic community, share your insights, and contribute to the collective advancement of biophysics.
